• Protect the health and promote the safety of employees
• Practice responsible care towards customers and the community
• Minimise any detrimental impact the business might have on society
• Be alert to customer needs, technological advancements and socio-economic priorities
• Provide protective equipment where necessary
• Provide ongoing appropriate safety training for employees
• Appoint persons, suitable by training and/or experience, in writing where required by the Occupational Health & Safety Act
• Comply with all local and national labour laws and regulations applicable to our business
• Monitor our occupational health and safety objectives by internal audits and site visits

It is Martin & East’s approach that all employees are responsible for Occupational Health & Safety and must shoulder the responsibility for everyone.

The Occupational Health & Safety programme is managed by the Occupational Health & Safety committee system through its monthly meetings and is reviewed annually by the Occupational Health & Safety committee with required recommendations for improvement submitted to the Chief Executive Officer.
